Thoroughbred racing operations began in 1962. The facility fell on hard times when Off Track Betting came to New York in the 1980s. Finger Lakes added simulcast racing in the 1990s and opened the facility all year round.
The property underwent a $10.5 million renovation in 2004. Video Lottery Terminals were added and the property was re-branded as Finger Lakes Gaming & Race Track.
