In his national commercial real estate practice, Joe has accumulated extensive experience in commercial leasing (for both landlords and tenants), property acquisition, disposition, and construction contracting. He represents the corporate real estate departments of several Fortune 100 companies in their national and international commercial real estate projects. His experience includes commercial office, retail, industrial, and mixed use properties.

New York - Wiggin and Dana LLP is pleased to announce the expansion of its Intellectual Property practice with the addition of four new partners in its New York office: Joseph Casino, Michael.

For example, Joe recently negotiated the lease for a Fortune 100 company’s 145,000 square-foot corporate headquarters, negotiated and closed several significant commercial sale/leaseback transactions, and in the past year alone has negotiated four major build-to-suit office leases.

Joe, who has been listed in Super Lawyers, is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Connecticut-Westchester Chapter and New England Chapter of CoreNet Global and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.

Joe is also active in his community. He serves on the real estate advisory board of the Community Renewal Team, a local anti-poverty group involved in housing for low-income, veteran, disabled, and senior citizens.

Joe earned his J.D. from Cornell University and his B.A. and B.S. from the University of Connecticut.

Joseph W. Martini is a partner in Wiggin and Dana’s White-Collar Defense, Investigations and Corporate Compliance Practice Group. He concentrates his practice in criminal matters and complex commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis counseling clients in prosecutions and investigations involving a broad range of federal criminal laws, involving tax fraud, bankruptcy fraud, bank fraud, mail and wire fraud, securities fraud, money laundering, the environment, theft of trade secrets, health care fraud, municipal corruption, and occupational safety and health (OSHA).
An accomplished trial and appellate lawyer, Mr. Martini has tried numerous jury cases to verdict and has briefed and argued over 20 cases before federal and state appellate courts. On behalf of a diverse group of clients – individuals, government officials and public and privately held companies – he regularly litigates sophisticated criminal and commercial disputes in federal and state courts, and before arbitration panels. Most recently, Mr. Martini represented a former Connecticut State Senator on appeal from bribery, mail fraud and tax convictions. He also successfully defended an international construction firm against allegations of criminal OSHA violations and violation of the Seaman’s Manslaughter Statute, an officer of a Fortune 150 corporation in a securities fraud investigation and an international franchisor in a criminal investigation of franchisee criminal activity. Mr. Martini served for nine years as an Assistant United States Attorney, investigating and prosecuting a broad range of federal crimes. He was awarded the Department of Justice’s Director’s Award for Superior Performance as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, and was also an instructor at the FBI Sensitive Operations and Undercover School at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Mr. Martini is on the Editorial Board of the American Bar Association, Section on Litigation, Committee on Criminal Litigation Newsletter, and is an active member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Federal Bar Council, and the CJA panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
He graduated cum laude with a B.A. from Gettysburg College in 1982, and in 1985 received his J.D. cum laude from Brooklyn Law School.
